Balyan is presently the MD & CEO of Petronet –LNG Limited, a fast growing company in the Indian energy sector.

Balyan was elevated to the Board of ONGC in 2003 as the Director (HR) & Business Development, besides being on the Board of several subsidiary namely ONGC Videsh Limited, MRPL, Dahej SEZ Ltd., Mangalore SEZ Ltd., ONGC Tripura Power Company, Petronet LNG Limited, ONGC Petro additions Limited, and as Chairman of Petronet MHB Limited. He steered ONGC’s diversification into sectors such as Wind Energy, LNG, Petrochemicals and Power.
